Episode 7 after this one loooooong month (I feel like I have watched them after ages now)
This time, it started with a hat, looks girlish and supposed to be beautiful (I didn't see it to be one though). It was picked up by a little fox (kogitsune, he was called) who then treated the hat like its most important things.
Meanwhile, Natsume was having a study trip around that area. He was also running an errand for his relative whose house he stayed at.
On his way to the tea cups maker, he came across the little fox, being bullied by two youkais which looks similar to those in the earlier episode (I forgot which).
They seemed to be in the different level though. And yea, Natsume played a hero and save the fox with his PUNCH! Smack! and the youkais back out. At this point, the cups were not ready and oh well there were still a few days.
The fake thing he referred to was Natsume's smile and behaviour towards others
Intrigued (Not sure) by its life-saver, the fox began to follow Natsume until the last day of the study trip. Natsume tried to outrun the fox but caught in the rain in the end. The fox gave a piece of huge leaf to cover him from the rain. Seeing this kind of perseverance, Natsume was soften and befriend the fox.
On the evening however, the fox was again encounter the bad guys while Natsume once again come to the rescue. And what a coincidence, a voice echoed calling out Natsume. It was a youkai with the form of tree called Sawarabi pleading for his name back.
Natsume without hesitation gave back the name and that thing was enough to repel the bad guys and made them scared. The fox wanted Natsume to take his name because he wanted to be useful to Natsume (Well, seems tough for the fox. He always called useless before). Contradictory to his mission, of course Natsume wouldn't take its name.
And that's the last day, Natsume's back home. The fox though was eager to know about Natsume's condition. While thinking about it, he met a new youkai (strange one with strange physical appearance) who tricked the fox into gathering a lot of fish.
It's not a trick in the end. That youkai rewarded him with a medicine which enables the fox to assume human form for one day, and that way he can met Natsume. How? Because he can now use human transporation services!! Lol. He's not powerful enough to move across the region in my opinion.
After quite sometime, he finally reached the residence and saw that Natsume was surrounded by warmth of a family while the fox didn't expected to be so. With that, the fox feel at ease to see a cheerful Natsume and sad of being lonely once again. He ran away and tripped, the hat rolled and hit Natsume, who knew all along that the fox came. And..
Looks like Hikaru from Hikaru no Go. Haha
All goes well and Natsume walk the fox back to the forest
No serious physical conflict this time which make this one is a little boring. But still good.

This was definitely my favourite episode up until now :) it was just so very cute...
Anyway, just wanted to point out that I don't think kogitsune isn't his name, it's the japanese word for fox-child (is kit the correct english word? I forget) :)
