Episode 6, halfway to go~

Natsume and his two friends were cycling in the bright of the sun. They passed a dried dam which was a village before. The village's name was Futaba Village. Now that it's summer the water was mostly vaporized and the sunk village could be seen. Natsume saw a shadow that possessed him soon and fainting him.

That night, he got better though Madara sensed something different about him. A group of youkai from the village from earlier came for their name. The head of the group is Tarusaru who convinced Natsume to return their names before the village resubmerged.

Natsume did so and for that Tarusaru showed him a mirror from which Natsume could see that he was being possessed by an Ayakashi.

The ayakashi attempt a fight in which she was easily defeated by a right hand punch of Natsume, breaking its bird-shaped mask. I'm glad it's broken

I forgot to mention about how the punch was so effective. This punch continued until now. >.<

So, the Ayakashi explained the reason why she possessed Natsume and that she meant no harm to him. She only wanted to meet a person whom she liked and indebted to when she was little. After getting nagged for a while, Natsume agreed to look for this person, with only surname Taniozaki as a clue.

So he started asking his friends about the man of futaba village. Fortunately, Kitamoto knew a thing about this man since his father lived there in the past and promised to ask his father.

On his way home, the Ayakashi introduced herself as Tsubame.|

The text means a joke not Tsubame's monologue. Don't get the wrong idea

She explained how she became like this and how she met this kind men until midnight. She was once a swallow, living with her 4 other siblings. One day, she fell off her nest and a human helped him. The smell that lingered on her made her parents abandoned her and her siblings. One by one, her siblings died leaving her behind. Eventually she became a demon.

Taniozaki mistaken her as a stray dog or cat and continuosly feed her everyday without fail. That way, she could stay peacefully.

The next day, Kitamoto gave the address of the Taniozaki guy to Natsume who rushed into searching of this man. They met him but sadly he cannot she Tsubame. Natsume felt pity on her and wanted to help her although Tsubame said seeing the man is more than enough. And so Tsubame stayed a while longer with Natsume who grew attached to her.

It's sad to see her ignored

On an evening Tarusaru from before brought a sake to his home, and told him about the festival in Futaba Village. The thing about the yukata that enabled a youkai or ayakashi to assume human form for one day caught Natsume's interest.

And so Natsume decided to go to Futaba village without knowing the danger that awaited him. Madara who looked like he just passing by stopped them and argued a little. He couldn't stop Natsume from joining the festival, but at least he could ensure his safety.

Tarusaru' true form. Like the saying " a wise tiger hides its fangs".

Wearing a mask, he joined the race for the right to have the yukata which was hung on a tall withered tree. Of course as a human, Natsume couldn't compete with the Youkai.

However, Madara came to help him in the end after watching him for a while. It's kinda cheating and I wonder why the youkais agreed that Natsume won.

He immediately went back and gave the yukata right away to Tsubame, telling her to meet Taniozaki in the neighbourhood festival. Tsubame was grateful and bid a farewell.

The next day he met the Taniozaki and asked whether he met a girl during the festival. He did met Tsubame and shown Natsume a photo.

She was there and Natsume was happy that he cried. I guess her perseverence touched him.

That's it for episode 6. Tsubame was pretty cute, I should say.
